I feel certain I’m not the only one who thinks the consequences of the BP Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico would be far-reaching in area and seemingly un-ending in time, especially related to our waters and marine life supported within our oceans.  As an avid offshore fisher-person I have noticed declining populations of many species of fish as well as new, federally-imposed fishing limits on species which are rapidly declining.  That is only part of the whole disaster – there were also human health-related issues that have arisen as well as the tremendous economic losses.  We tend to lose sight of the on-going problems when we are bombarded with BP Oil ads telling us how things are back to normal.

The most recent settlement with individuals and businesses addresses the economic losses and medical issues associated with the Deepwater Horizon accident and spill.  Read Environmental Leader’s article on the settlement…

Have you been wondering where BP Oil is drilling now?  If you guessed the Gulf of Mexico you are right!  Read Solar Thermal magazine’s article, “Is Deepwater Horizon the New Equador?”
