October 16 is World Food Day!

I want to make sure everyone knows about World Food Day on Sunday, October 16, 2011.  There are events planned all over the world to recognize this movement.  The purpose of World Food Day 2011 is to make everyone in the nation aware and understand the health risks and environmental hazards of GMOs.  This begins with the need to have GMOs on ingredient labels!

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is also working hard to get the message out to as many people as possible including in order to get the Food and Drug Administration to understand consumers do want this information on food labels.  If you would like to do your part to get genetically altered foods labelled, click here to sign the petition.  No donation necessary, just help the cause.

Here is the list of events in Florida from Organic Consumers Association, a non-profit organization.  If you would like to see what is going on in another location, click here for Organic Consumers Association.  Some event information is missing so please contact the event organizers  listed for each event to obtain the missing information.
