Solar Decathlon Sun Powered House Competition

Maryland's Watershed House - Photo: Jill Fehrenbacher for Inhabitat

Did you know about the Solar Decathlon Competition that was being held in Washington, DC this past weekend?  Teams from all over the US and world have been erecting houses powered by the sun.   There are some very unusual designs and construction materials and there are several very attractive homes… several I would be happy to live in 🙂

It’s pretty interesting to see what many of the young, eco-minded students designed and actually put together for the competition.  And it is not easy to pick out a “domestic” design from one of the “international” designs as they are all so unique!  Follow this link to Inhabitat’s main article about the entries and if you like what you see and read follow the links to individual houses that Inhabitat has covered.
